Polo, the King of All Games, has been played in the Northern parts of Pakistan and Chitral for generations to settle disputes between minor kingdoms, villages, and opposing groups, with the losing side losing land, territory, or paying a severe fee and sometimes death penalty. The ancient rival teams of Gilgit and Chitral have been practising freestyle polo for generations on the Shandur pass (3734 metres), the world’s highest polo field, each summer month of July. The Gilgit and Chitral polo clubs, as well as the local authority, staged a three-day polo event. during Shandur’s reign
