Shangrila Lake, also known as Lower Kachura Lake, is located at an elevation of 2500 meters in Kachura village, Skardu. After Muhammad Aslam Khan Afridi built a resort on the shores of this lake, locals began calling it Shangrila Lake.
This resort is well-known for its restaurant, which was built on the wreckage of an aircraft that tragically crashed near this location. From Skardu, it takes roughly 20 minutes to go to Shangrila Lake. Shangrila Lake is a fascinating artificial lake fed by the upper Kachura Lake and boasting crystal clear water. Shangrila Resort won the Wiki loves Earth competition, which began in 2015, demonstrating its amazing beauty.
