Chitral is a Pakistani district in the northwestern part of the country. It is well-known for its friendly inhabitants and magnificent alpine settings. Chitral is a fairly isolated place, and accessing it during the winter months is difficult due to road closures. Chitral is bordered on the east by Gilgit-Baltistan, on the southeast by Swat, and on the north and north-east by China and the Afghan Wakhan corridor. Afghanistan’s Nuristan and Kunar provinces are located in the west. Upper Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is located in the south.
