Astore Valley is located in Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region, in the Astore District. In the winter, the valley is blanketed in snow.
Astore Valley has around 100 communities with a total area of 5,092 square kilometres. It is 120 kilometres long. It is located in Gilgit’s southeast corner, on the east side of Nanga Parbat’s spectacular point (8,126). At 2,600 metres above sea level, this breathtaking, scenic alpine valley awaits you. Among its communities, Chilam is the departure location for Deosai, the world’s second-highest aeroplane. In addition, the valley’s unique climatic conditions and captivating terrain make it an important source of therapeutically important plants for the home.
