Bahawalpur is a town in the Punjab province of Pakistan. With a population of 798,509 people, Bahawalpur is Pakistan’s 11th largest city. Bahawalpur was founded in 1748 as the seat of Bahawalpur, a former princely state governed by the Nawabs Abbasi family until 1955.
The district of Bahawalpur is bordered to the south and southeast by India, to the north by Bahawalnagar, to the north by Vehari, Lodhran, and Multan, to the north by Rahimyar Khan, to the west by Muzaffargarh, and to the northwest by Muzaffargarh.
