Gwadar is a Pakistani port town on the southwestern coast of Balochistan. The village is located on the coast of the Arab Sea, directly across from Oman. Gwadar was Oman’s overseas possession from 1783 to 1958.
Gwadar will aid Pakistan in tracking SLOCs (Sea Lines of Communication) flowing from the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Gwadar would be able to keep an eye on marine oil lines and commercial routes linking South Asia, Africa, Central Asia, the Gulf, and the Middle East.
